Jesus holds the keys to our freedom.
He holds the keys to life, not just life eternal but an abundant life on earth.
We can trust Him with anything and everything!
I was trapped in a cage for SO LONG.
I could hear my Savior calling.
I could hear him tell me to stand up and walk out of that imprisonment.
I was afraid. I was comfortable in the familiar.
I wanted to follow His lead. I wanted to obey. I wanted to trust.
I was afraid of what I did not know…so much so that the familiar,
although painful and harmful, seemed a safer option.
Until that cage started squeezing me.
Until I saw that cage for what it truly was, my death trap if I chose to remain.
Suddenly, obedience to my Savior Who loves me seemed a much better deal.
I chose to follow His lead.
And oh…did He lead!
Someone asked why I was sure that I will never go back to the way I was.
It’s a simple answer really,
but the words seem too simple to describe such deep truth.
When the magnitude of Paradise invades your soul, there is no comparison anymore to the skid row shack that had a false front disguising its true poverty.
I KNOW I am now permanently free from the cage in which I once felt so completely at home. The lies that held me captive have been demolished and I can see more clearly now.
I recognize the cage for the death trap it truly is and I refuse to return to it.
I won’t fall for that deception again.
Yes, I know there will be other deceptions, other battles I will have to face and fight.
We are, after all, at war with an enemy bent on our destruction!
But this particular battle…this one is over.
Love truly won.
Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved.
They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.
My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia.
This is the message from the one who is holy and true,
the one who has the key of David.
What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open:
“I know all the things you do, and
I have opened a door for you that no one can close.
You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.
