Our spiritual bodies are just as real as our physical bodies...and they need to be cared for/maintained just as diligently. If we neglect either of our bodies (physical or spiritual), the results can be detrimental.

There is no vacuum in the soul...it will be filled with one thing or another. When we neglect to feed our spirit with Truth, other things will fill it. The world is full of toxic lies and those lies can be quite convincing. We must be purposeful in what our bodies and minds absorb. When we consistently fill our minds with negative thoughts and ideas, we will feel as ill in our spiritual bodies as we would if we were daily ingesting poison into our physical bodies. We must identify the lies and replace them with Truth. We must identify the toxins and replace them with something beneficial in order to achieve and maintain good health.

If you are serious about your overall health…try this experiment for a set amount of time...perhaps a week or a month:

~~Begin your day with prayer. You don’t have to be eloquent…God already knows your heart. Open up this line of communication and watch how it affects your perspective. My best days were always the ones where I started out asking God what He wanted me to do with the day He gave me.
~~Read the Bible every day (my favorite book is Proverbs...so much wisdom contained in such a small book! The book of John is also a good place to start).
~~Change your radio station to a Christian station. They typically broadcast a more positive tone for the day with both the music and news that they share. If you have children, you never have to worry about inappropriate conversation on those stations. Bonus! LOL!
~~Observe how a daily ingestion of truth and positivity affects your mood and overall sense of well-being.

We need to understand:
There is no neutral ground in the spiritual war raging around us.
It's a cosmic battle between the Creator of the Universe and the enemy who seeks to destroy everything and everyone he can.  There is no neutral position.
Who will you believe? Which side will you allow to feed your spirit?

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls
around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to
all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5
