Default Setting

Our sin nature is like a default setting on a computer.
One of the great things about computers is that the settings can be customized
to the owner’s unique preferences.

With Christ’s love and hope in us we don’t have to stay in our default setting.
When we yield to Him, we will be changed from our brokenness to His usefulness.
His strength can customize us to reflect His love and hope to a hurting world.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!”
2 Corinthians 5:17

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,
as though God were making his appeal through us.
We implore you on Christ’s behalf:
Be reconciled to God.
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us,
so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20-21

“For it is by grace you have been saved,
through faith—and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-10

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action;
be self-controlled, set your hope fully on the grace
to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.  As obedient children,
do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.”
1 Peter 1:13-14
