Digging Deeper

When rains are constant, roots grow shallow. It's an easier path.
When drought comes, roots must go deeper for survival.
Results most important when storms come.
Deep roots hold place strongly. Shallow roots are uprooted.

We all like it when life is humming along smoothly.
No one enjoys the storms, or droughts, of life.
Oddly enough, though, the storms/droughts are what grows our strength.
They force us to seek answers that are deeper than surface level.
They force us to dig deeper into Truth.
The deeper we dig, the stronger our roots will be and
the more solid we will stand when the next storm comes along.
A firm foundation is an absolute must in this insane world.

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”
Luke 6:46-49
