I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how a woman would feel after her husband decides he no longer wants to share life together.
I have dear friends who, after years of dedication and sacrifice,
are now facing life on their own.
Rejected. Abandoned. Disposable. Unworthy. Unloved.
These may be the exact feelings that
their former love might want them to feel…
but nothing could be farther from the truth.
If a man has a hundred dollar bill it’s worth a hundred dollars…
no matter what he does to it.
If he keeps it, its value benefits him.
If he tosses it out the window, the value of that bill does not change…
but someone else who recognizes it’s worth will find it and keep it safe.
When the first man finds himself in need of that treasure later,
he will regret letting it slip from his hands.
My friends are not perfect…but they are treasures nonetheless.
They will face long lonely days ahead…but their value is unchanged.
Someday, they will recognize their own value…
and perhaps another man will too.
But now…today…this very moment…
there is One who knows their value and knows
that these men were foolish to throw away the treasure
that had been entrusted to them.
My friends will not be abandoned.
Their value is not diminished by the men who had no eyes
to see that they were a gift from God.
Truth will see them through these difficult days.
Everlasting Love will walk with them…binding their wounds,
healing their hearts, and reaffirming their worth in His eyes.

but a prudent wife is from the LORD.”
