The heart must be changed before the behavior will be true.
Only God can change hearts.

Many Christians try to live a perfect life but that’s a façade that cannot be maintained for long. There is no perfect life.
We are flawed creatures.
We will make mistakes.
This is why forgiveness and grace were invented (by the Father who knows best what we need)! That’s not an excuse for us to be careless with our lives…but, it should be more freeing to realize that as we yield to His ways, He will change our hearts and then our behavior will change accordingly. When we try to make the behavior “perfect” before our hearts are changed, we end up with loads of stress and eventually, we crack under the pressure. We must be humble enough to admit our failings, brave enough to be real, and childlike enough to allow our Father to teach us, mold us, and guide us.

“Father Knows Best” certainly applies here. :)

“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.”
Ezekiel 36:25-27
