Grace

I was driving along a lonely Oklahoma county road…
listening to music from Winter Jam…pondering many memories.
Suddenly struck with a wave of thankfulness that
God gives us grace where many times humans will not.

Chewing on that thought hours later, I realize that it’s not just
that sometimes people “won’t” extend grace to us when we fall…
it’s that they simply can’t.
Human beings are all flawed by the same sinful nature
that God seeks to rescue us from.
Until our last breath, we will not be completely free of those flaws,
but we can be spared many of the consequences
if we follow His lead and guidelines for our life on this earth.
Other humans may react to our failings with anger, self-righteous piety, sadness, pity, or any other of the human emotions available to us.
It is only God who has that brand of AMAZING Grace that can see past our failures and view us through the lens of Love to see the person we were created to be.

My heart is bursting with joy and gratitude today for Grace…
God’s perfect amazing gift to mankind.
I want to be able to love people the way He loves them.
I want to be His Love with skin on.
I can’t do this on my own. An empty vessel cannot pour anything.
I MUST stay connected to Him, daily taking in His Word
and leaning on Him for understanding.
