Do not discount children!
They are not deaf.
They have ears.
They are not blind.
They have eyes.
They may be naïve, but they are not stupid
They have brains.
They can discern, sometimes better than adults,
the difference between right and wrong!
They have souls that can sense the presence of our Creator God,
oftentimes better than ours that have become dulled by our own sin.
And Praise God…they have mouths linked with courage untainted by the “experience” that sometimes becomes a handicap to adults!
I just heard an amazing speech by a “little boy” who stands taller than many older than he. This young man, to the credit of his elders, has been given a megaphone to deliver his message worldwide.
God has, is, and will bless this young man for his boldness.
It was the shepherd boy David who had the courage to do what an army of men were too afraid to do…stand up against the giant who was slandering the name of our Lord.
And let’s not forget young Timothy~~who Paul encouraged with these words:
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, and in purity.”
Children’s stories and/or “bunny trails” can test even the most patient, I agree. But they MUST NOT be discounted or treated as unworthy of our attention. Bunny trails can sometimes lead to wisdom that we would otherwise not have found.
No one…NO ONE…is greater or more powerful than Jesus Christ…
yet he made time for children.
“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”
If our schedules and time constraints make us too busy to listen to the children in our lives…then something is seriously wrong and
we need to make some changes worthy of making!
