God is not a nag.
He has good things for us
He insists we obey so that we can get the reward He offers.

He is like a loving parent standing across the room,
holding out arms to their toddler--
“Come on! Come on! You can do it!”

Instead of what other humans do:
“Why haven’t you done that yet?” …belittling us for our mistakes.

Loving parents don’t fault you for what you don’t know,
they encourage you for what you’ve learned
That’s how God does it.  :)

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all
without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24

God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”
Romans 2:6

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12

However, as it is written: What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived — the things God has prepared for those who love him.
1 Corinthians 2:9

Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
Deuteronomy 5:33

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand,
that he may lift you up in due time.
1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
James 4:10
