“What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.”

To build muscles, they first have to be broken down.
The body’s natural repair makes them stronger.

I have long believed God's Word but couldn’t quite understand why God would desire our brokenness...until I realized that the building process of our souls is similar to the building process of our physical bodies.

God doesn’t desire us to be broken so that He could relish in the misery of man.
He desires to use our brokenness to build us up into better people.
What a wonder!

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and
saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Psalm 51:17

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
