I hate that word. When someone uses it to describe me it grates on my nerves.
I don’t want to be “religious.”
I don’t want to live a life based on rules and regulations that,
in the end, are meaningless.
It is impossible to earn Grace!
There is a different “R” word that is far more significant.
A living relationship with Jesus Christ is the ONLY thing that matters.
He is the One who laid His life down so that we would have hope of eternal life.
If someone is living a life that seeks to bring honor to the Lord Jesus Christ—
the rules that matter will be taken care of by default.
There have always been those who embrace religion and
think that checking the boxes of living a religious life will save them.
They are mistaken.
We each need to ask ourselves
(no one else can ask or answer for us):
What is Jesus going to say to me?
“Depart from me I never knew you”
“Well done good and faithful servant”
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’
Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant!
You have been faithful with a few things;
I will put you in charge of many things.
Come and share your master’s happiness!’
