Worship

When we are so focused on others worshipping us we miss
the joy that comes from worshipping the One True God.

“I worship the ground you walk on.”
A popular phrase used to indicate a deep love
and devotion to another human being.
Most people would say that this is nothing…just a phrase.
People think that our words don’t matter…but they do.
Our words reveal our hearts.

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart,
and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart
For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Luke 6:45

Our words matter.
Worshipful words should only be used to honor our Creator God.
No other human being can possibly walk the road that God walks for us.

Everyone wants to be loved.
The desire to be loved is one that God relates to as well.
Left to our own human understanding and devices,
that desire can all too often turn into self worship.
When others don’t join in it hurts our feelings.

We were not designed to BE worshipped…we were designed FOR worship.

Our God is a jealous God…He will not be replaced.

If anything or anyone else takes God’s rightful place—life gets out of whack.
The remedy is not confusing nor difficult.
When we put God first in our lives…
giving our worship only to Him…
our every need will be met.

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’
or ‘What shall we drink?’
or ‘What shall we wear?’
For the pagans run after all these things,
and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:31-34
